Nansha firm unveils AI model enabling deep-sea robots to understand spoken commands

Sealien (Guangzhou) Technology Company, a company based in Guangzhou's Nansha district, has launched SEAgent 1.0, an underwater multi-agent task decision-making model that enables deep-sea robots to understand natural spoken commands and coordinate tasks autonomously.

The model marks a leap from manual remote control to human-robot collaborative decision-making. Operators can now give plain-language instructions such as "go check the facility over there," and the system will interpret the intent, fill in missing information through multi-turn dialogue, and generate structured task commands.

SEAgent 1.0 also features intelligent task assessment, automatically evaluating whether an instruction exceeds equipment limits or safety boundaries before execution. In urgent situations, it recognizes emergency-related commands and reduces unnecessary dialogue, speeding up emergency response.

The system supports collaborative operations among multiple underwater robots and can be deployed on existing equipment. It is expected to aid in deep-sea oil and gas pipeline inspections, submarine cable maintenance, and seabed mineral exploration.

Founded in 2023 in Nansha, Sealien (Guangzhou) Technology Company, has grown from a small startup into a company capable of securing overseas orders worth hundreds of millions of yuan and exporting complete deep-sea robotic systems. The company benefits from Nansha's marine technology innovation ecosystem, which includes research institutions, shipbuilding and offshore engineering clusters, and dedicated investment funds.
