Pony.ai's Robotaxi thrives in Guangzhou and Shenzhen during Chinese New Year

During the Chinese New Year holiday, the bustling cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province witnessed a surge in travel demand, with services from Pony.ai, a global leader in the large-scale production and commercialization of autonomous driving technology, playing a pivotal role.

As tourists flocked to cities, Pony.ai's Robotaxi service seamlessly navigated them to popular tourist spots, filling the transportation gap left by taxi drivers who returned home for the holiday.

Throughout the holiday period from Feb 15 to 23, Pony.ai provided services, ensuring the mobility needs of both residents and tourists were met. Daily paid orders reached new heights, and notably, there was a substantial rise in users from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

A user of social platform Xiaohongshu, "Danran", shared such experiences, highlighting the comfort and affordability of the driverless service. "Spending the Chinese New Year in Nansha, our family decided to try Pony.ai's driverless service. The spacious five-seater was smooth and comfortable, especially for those prone to motion sickness."
