The Nansha district of Guangzhou in South China's Guangdong province hosts the first job fair in 2026 at Nansha Wanda Plaza, with more than 440 job seekers reaching tentative employment agreements with participating companies.

Seizing the post-holiday hiring peak, the fair featured four specialized zones: Production Skills, Technology R&D, University Graduates, and Comprehensive Recruitment.

Over 120 key enterprises offered more than 3,500 high-quality positions across sectors such as artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles, and advanced manufacturing, as well as modern services such as logistics and business services. Notably, Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd (GSI) offered positions with salaries exceeding 1 million yuan ($145,560).

A university graduate surnamed Luo from Southwest China’s Sichuan province was attracted by incentives such as free accommodation and travel subsidies. Meanwhile, Liang, another job seeker, was drawn by the rapid development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Fan Tijian, GSI's deputy human resources director, received around 200 resumes within the first 90 minutes. The company, which holds shipbuilding orders until 2030, aims to fill high-skill roles and build confidence in the shipbuilding industry.

The Nansha Human Resources and Social Security Bureau facilitated the fair, offering comprehensive support and ensuring a seamless experience for both employers and job seekers. The fair also featured a hybrid "online + offline" recruitment model, with live broadcasts attracting over 18,300 views.

The event exemplified Nansha's commitment to enhancing its talent ecosystem, supporting industrial growth, and fostering high-quality development.
