On Aug 13, the Global Distribution Center project, currently implementing a model of innovation and regulation in Guangzhou's Nansha district, agreed to settle in the Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Hainan province.

Nansha has been a national pioneer in establishing a digital innovation platform for international trade by integrating three innovative projects, namely the Global Traceability Center, the Global Distribution Center and the Global Customs Clearance System, which each aims to build a set of trade rules applying to international free trade ports.

The Global Distribution Center project will focus on further improvement and upgrades in Yangpu Economic Development Zone, said Li Yan, president of TopIdeal SCM, the operating arm of Nansha's Global Distribution Center.

Li added that the center will help relevant cross-border industries and companies to better understand local policies, achieve industrial clusters and rapid development, as well as inject new vitality into the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.

The cooperation between Nansha and Hainan is expected to bring more connections between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and Hainan Free Trade Port.

A person-in-charge from Nansha district said that the district will give full play to major reform projects to support the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
